Apple's OS X operating system has "been adopted by the public at a rate that the company 'expected and hoped,', according to Phil Schiller. He, however, declined to say specifically how many users of Mac OS X there currently are, citing the quiet period before the company's earnings in mid-October, according to the Wall Street Journal report.
