The Cobra+ line retails for $$250 (40GB), $$300 (60GB), $360 (80GB) and $490 (100GB). All drives are shipping with a "Pro-Mar" exterior and are covered by a two year warranty.

    Firewire drives...

are just ide drives in firewire cases. I would NOT put ide anything in a server if I didn't have to. Is it a decent solution, I guess. I live and breath SCSI for it's reliability.

    case it

the case looks good with the older g4 towers and still looks good with the new ones.

if u wanna run a server id get a ultra scsi drive and card. raid if possible. ive seen many ide drives go out at work just from daily use yet our dual scsi raid is still chugging away in the server dealing out mail, pics and virtual tours. i think thier quantums.

    However

They are AWESOME for audio. I have a slightly older one and think the world of them. Have an Ultra SCSI-2 drive as well and it sucks.

    Personal opinion of course.

    not all are IDE

But most are since IDE drives are very cheap. Expect a pure FireWire drive to cost $100 or $200 more.

Definitely consider these in a server for backup, especially very quick offsite backup.
