Steven Bytnar is looking for a few owners of Revision 2 or Revision 3 Beige G3's that are running MacOS X 10.x to test his Grackle Probe software: "The goal of this software is to collect information related to possibly finding a software solution which allows some older Beige G3's to work reliably with 256MB SDRAM modules."

boy am i confused. I own a rev A beige G3 with 640 meg of ram. All of the modules are 133. two are 256 and one is 128 and they all work fine [ a total of 540 meg ]. In addition I have an XLR8 566 M G4 Zif and it works just fine. Am I missing something?

    G3 AIO, hmm

I wonder if my G3 All-in-One/266 falls into this category. It seems to be running Mac OS 10.0.4 fine with 352 MB of RAM (base 32 + 1x64 MB DIMM + 1x256MB DIMM).

better not have probs w X

I just bought 3 256mb dimms for my rev A from OtherWorld.
I ordered PC100, they sent PC133. I called, they said "we upgraded you!? And they're completely downwardly compatable with your 66mhz bus.
So far I've had no problems with OS9.2.1 (three days since installing them).
I bought these spacifically to prepare for OSX. I'd better not have problems with them in X!! Gol dang it.
