Elite to resurrect ComputerWare stores
updated 03:30 pm EDT, Mon September 10, 2001
Elite Computers today announced that it would open three new locations under the "ComputerWare, by Elite Computers & Software" name, merging the traditional ComputerWare logo with the Elite Computers & Software name. The first new store will be opening in San Rafael, California at 1031 "C" Street, the same location formerly occupied by a previous ComputerWare retail store, while the other two additional stores will be located in Capitola (CA) and Sunnyvale (CA)--also in the former ComputerWare locations.

That's cool...
Computerware lives on!
One of the best chains I've been to...though I'd have to give it only a qualified thumbs up.
Ya see, while the stores were excellent, occasionally the staff could be a snooty pain in the arse-- I remember one time I went in to buy an iMac, and the some schleppy kid tried to shame me into buying a dual G4 tower. He was like a sales n***, mocking my choice. Wotta loser. The truly stupid part: He wasn't even on commission. There was no reason to be that way, except elitist numbskulled-ness.
Ok, maybe I can see why they went out of business...arrogance turns off customers. But even so, they were light years ahead of Fry's, Circuit City, and their ilk.
Maybe the new Computerware will be a 'kinder, gentler' one. If so, perfecto. If not...well, I'm pretty sure Apple Store Palo Alto will be up and running before the end of the year.
