MacNN reader Niklas Forsberg reports receiving the following letter from Apple regarding Steve Jobs's keynote at the Apple Expo in Paris: "We would like to inform you that due to record demand, all of the seats for the keynote at the Palais des Congrés have been allocated. Therfore we invite you to watch the keynote live from Hall 4 of the expibition center at Porte de Versailles."

    Expibition?

I got my badge from Apple today. I registered about three weeks ago.

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to go, as there will be no product sales (too expensive for exhibitors to ship product to the show), no new hardware, and I didn't register in time for the keynote.

    Funny

I actually thought this announcement was pretty funny.

Record demand? Would that be because people are so excited following his announcement that he wouldn't say anything interesting in the keynote?

I know, I know. Steve says it's going to be really cool hearing about the wonders of 10.1 (again) but it still surprises me that after the fiasco of the MWNY keynote people are still falling over themselves to hear... not very much.

Oh well, at least people aren't going to break down in tears and threaten physical assault on Steve when they don't get their flat-panel iMac this time :-)

    I hope...

...we never see another ramp up of baseless rumors and hype like we did before MWNY this year. Never.

    X and other new software?

It seems this Expo will be about software, with the gem being Mac OS X. Not to be a rumor monger but what about the often speculated iPhoto or similar consumer image editing software. What better time to introduce X native consumer software to get the migration moving along. Does anyone know if this keynote will be viewable via Quicktime?

    because

RECORD numbers because probably like last year, there were TONS of people and unless you arrived an hour before, it was hard to get good seats.

Or maybe they are saying that to create some hype and actually try and get people to go ;-)

    Not QT?

How interesting - are they not then going to quicktime (new verb) it all over? My my, it must be a boring keynote. "And now I'd like to invite a member of the audience up to start the Photoshop bakeoff and saw this iMac in half..."

    same letter

I got the same letter, and was one of the first to subscribe online. I guess they have given all seats to relations. Bummer. No K on the badge for me. The program during macworld doesn't seem interesting enough to go to Paris. So probably quicktime for me...
