Apple pulls MP severs from Website
updated 03:00 pm EDT, Fri September 7, 2001
Apple has pulled all multi-processing versions of its G4 servers off both its US and international Apple Stores, leaving only the single-processor 533 MHz as its sole server offering. This has led to widespread speculation that new server configurations and announcements are in the offing, either at the upcoming Apple Expo in Paris (despite CEO Steve Jobs' promise of "no new hardware"), Seybold San Francisco or International Broadcasters Convetion (IBC) 2001 in Amsterdam (being held Sept. 14-18th), where Apple had already promised to "reaffirm" it leadership in desktop video.

Patent Lawsuit?
Might it be because of the patent lawsuit recently filed against Apple regarding parallel processing? If so one would think Apple would have pulled more than just multi-processor servers (also the dual-800 G4), but maybe the board in the dual-800 doesn't infringe and the servers did (if any did at all).
Anyway, just another theory to consider.
