Palm, Inc., Shinei International and Liquid Audio, Inc. have announced a complete digital music package for users of the Palm m100 and m105 -- including Shinei's expandable Porteson MP3 player and Palm co-branded Liquid Player Plus desktop software, licensed by Shinei from Liquid Audio. Shinei's Porteson MP3 player can be used as a standalone product or in conjunction with Palm m100 and m105 handhelds. There are two memory options -- 32MB for $149.99 and 64MB for $199.99

    Or...

...get an iPaq. It has an MP3 player built in (along with a million other things that Palm doesn't have). I mean really, what's pratical about an m105 with a $150 add-on?

    Palm is dead :(

With such stupid ideas, Palm's future doesn't look very bright :(

They really need to release a new OS soon and new Palm models too. m500 & 505 are just too expensive and under featured...

    Agreed

As soon as PocketPC's can "sync" with non-Windows Platforms MS will crush Palm. I previously owned an iPaq and was amazed at what the little thing could do. However, I ended up selling it on eBay after only a few months because I couldn't sync it with my Mac.

I used the money to buy a Handspring Visor (which at the time actually cost a bit more than the PPC). Subsequently I lost MP3 capability, ended up with a smaller, lower-res screen, lost all audio functions (audio-books, etc), lost the ability to play movies and lost the ability to play "high-end" games (the NES emulator, etc.).

Sure, Palm is a better organizer, but is it worth it when the alternatives can do so much more?
