    Pissed her off???

"that's alot of years. wonder if they pissed her off personally?"

She is recovering from a long battle with cancer and does not want to have the stress that her job requires. She has been quoted saying many good things about Apple and that she regrets leaving but her health has to come first. Hey berserkintosh, get some more info before posting a comment. Chill

Lokii, chill out. That was a valid question, what with the way Apple's been laying off people and such.

    retirement

I think the thing that really surprises people is the word "retire", since Apple is not a company that anyone is thought of as retiring from. I've heard "No one retires from Apple." from more than one Apple employee. It's just too stressful for most of them, they love it, but they burn out.

Congratulations to Ms. Ryall, for sticking it out for so long.
