On the high end, Epson now offers the C80 color ink jet printer which features new inks that are water resistant and light resistant and is priced at under $150. The printer delivers up to 20 pages per minute (ppm) of black text printing and up to 10 ppm color. The C80 offers both USB and parallel connectivity. A version called the C80WN includes 802.11b (AirPort) wireless networking.

    Hmmm, any more info?

I couldn't find anything at Epson's site. Hope they really do have the wireless thing going.

    yeah...

It WOULD be nice if MacNN were to state in their blurbs that the "site has not been updated", i.e., that the Epson site has NO info on these products at this time. Sheesh.

    OS X?

Do these printers offer OS X support, especially the 802.11 one?

    Well...

What would really be nice is if a big corporation had their spit together, and had their new products on their website before they mail out press releases. I applaud Epson for always staying on the cutting edge, but it's not really fun when the printer you (I) payed $275 for is $99 five months later.

    OS X

I purchased the C60 yesterday and found that it does not include OS X drivers, though the manual points to Epson's site check for the latest driver. As it has been pointed out, Epson has yet to update their site... Works great in OS 9.2, though!

    finally 802.11b printers

i've been waiting for these to finally show up. i've got a laserwriter pro 630 right now that's on the network but it'd be nice to throw one of these small inkjets in another room, plug it into the power socket, and start printing away. can't wait!

    Wireless price!!

Finally found the link - which isn't on any Epson site:
    http://www.businesswire.com/webbox/bw.090401/212470158.htm

$149 for the USB printer (after $30 rebate). Then hold your breath: for the 802.11 version, $399!! WTF is that about??? Even the Ethernet version is $349!

Is it really that incredibly expensive putting an Ethernet link in?? For 802.11 it's just an Airport card, in effect. Why the high price? Love someone to explain. I would love to have an 802.11 printer but that's way over the odds. I must be really missing something about the cost of putting Ethernet rather than USB into something.

    cost..

After talking to Epson sales, who didn't know squat about the new printer, I followed the above link from Charles A. Interesting article, cool new printer features. I think I'll get one. Looking at the price tho, I think if I want wireless printing, I'll have to use my tower as a print server and link to it via AirPort. A better choice than spending an extra 200.00 for an AirPort printer option.

    That price is for...

"...features new inks that are water resistant and light resistant and is priced at under $150."
Is that the price of the printer or the ink cartriges? ;-)
