Albany, NY Apple Store nearing opening

MacNN reader "Little Matt" has sent in the following report regarding Apple's upcoming store in Albany, NY:
While visiting Albany for a Labor Day party, my girlfriend and I stopped by Crossgates Mall to see what progress had been made, if any, on the Apple Store to be located there.
We figured that it should at least be under construction since the job postings for that location have all but disappeared from Apple's site.
There is a location on the first floor across from Macy's which is sporting only "Fisher Development" and "Brookstone is now located upstairs" signs.
A look inside the holes showed a store far from completion. It does look as if all demolition of the previous tenant's space is complete. New construction is beginning. Ceiling grid is still being hung from lifts. Metal studs are still visible in the walls. The lighting is still provided by construction lamps.
The space is next to an American Eagle Outfitters and a bed store. It's located directly before a diagonal "jog" in the mall, so Apple may be able to have some extra window space or an extra Apple logo in this location. The drywall barrier does indeed have a diagonal section.
