    But the question is...

Who will be there to accept? SJ? Phil? I guess it doesn't matter, since I'm sure some innocuous dim-bulb like Jennifer Love Hewitt or TV's David Schwimmer will probably introduce it as "Awards given out earlier..."

    Tech awards?

Yeah arlo, that's possible. Do the Emmys have a technical awards presentation the night before the other ones are given out like the Oscars?

This Emmy is not Apple's first. In 1998, its "Think Different" ad campaign won for outstanding commercial.

Apple will receive the primetime Emmy, which is given by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, in a ceremony later Wednesday at the Goldenson Theatre in Hollywood. Accepting the award for Apple will be Tom Boger, a product manager, and Eric Anderson, one of the engineers who helped develop FireWire for Apple.

    Cool!

This is great for Apple. Finally they are getting some recognition for being the best. Sure, they get lots of awards for style, but this is an award for SUBSTANCE. Sooner or later Apple's marketshare has got to start growing!

    Interesting

I find it interesting that Firewire was developed before Jobs came back to Apple. Now with Jobs at Apple we get useless things like the ADC connector. Way to go, Jobs!

    ADC is great...

And it's a standard (I think it was developed by IBM...) !

Having only one cable instead of three is not useless at all. It's certainly more usefull than the flower power patern of the iMac ;)

    Only Firewire?

Interesting that it's an award for Hardware that is now widely available in the pc world. I think they deserve an award for Final Cut Pro, too. That would be good for Apple - Mac only SW gaining an Emmy.

    (Or was it developed elsewhere...)

    Final Cut Pro

I heard somewhere that Final Cut Pro was originally a different program that Apple bought out or took and tweaked it to be much better and calls it their own. Im not saying that Apple stole anything, but I think that Final Cut Pro came originally from some other software.
