IDC says notebook sales picking up

Research firm IDC says notebooks broke the 20 percent market-share mark last year and over the last several quarters have crept up to nearly 24 percent. The firm attributes significantly lower pricing on consumer notebooks and the proliferation of the 802.11b wireless networking standard (which Apple helped to pioneer) for spurring the shift away from desktops.
