    Netscape also forgot LDAP

Netscape also forgot LDAP, a fatal error in our case. Looks like Netscape will loose 8000 seats in favor of M$'s software. We satandardized on Netscape aLONG time ago and have invested a lot of training on Communicator. With them leaving out LDAP support in the messaging part of Netscape 6 there isn't much we can do but either stick with communicator 4.x or move on. If Netscape plans an "enterprise" version of 6 with LDAP that's great, but they'd better speak up soon or loose a LOT of mindshare in the area.

    it' doesn't matter...

....because in it's current form, the Mac version of NS6 is such a piece of %^$&!!! Netscape should be ashamed for labelling such a worthless and incomplete piece of software as a 'product'

Nice try guys, I'll stick with the evil empire for now tho...

    IE rocks

When I bought my rev A iMac it came with IE 4. I started using it a bit over netscape. Sometimes I was about to double click on the Netscape icon, but changed my mind and then went to IE. Then along came IE 4.5. From then on, I stopped using the outdated crappy Netscape and moved on. IE 5 rocks the house. Microsoft is doing a great job making sure its Macintosh versions of its products are Mac-like and Mac-friendly (and up-to-date with supporting the latest features of the Mac OS) Netscape on the other hand....... well I don't want to get into that =(

I just installed Netscape 6.0 on the my G4 under 9.0.4 and i have run it but it's just have open some weird window with tons of icons and after this nothing is going on. I can't see a any menu and of course I have used Force Quit to get the h*** out from this nice somftware. Looks like AOL and Netscape just made another BUG.

    Beta Anyone?

It's not that Netscape 6 doesn't have some really good ideas, but calling the current Mac offering a "release" is a real mistake. It's clearly still in beta.

    Not that I use it...

Not that I use it on my Mac, because the installer wouldn't even complete the installation process after all those downloads.... But even on my Windoze PC, Netscape 6 seems to be incomplete, with at least one show-stopping bug. I like the potential of it's new features, but I'll wait for the Mozilla release 1.0, since that's supposed to be a complete product.

The fact that we lose acrobat functionality comes as no surprise, and frankly seems irrelevant given my experiences. I'll continue to use 4.76 on my Mac at home and IE 5.5 on my work machines.
