Greg Landweber has released SmoothType 2.2.2, an update to his $10 shareware control panel that brings Mac OS X style font smoothing to Macs running System 7 through Mac OS 9; version 2.2.2 improves the appearance of bold text in fonts without a bold variant, as well as fixing text drawing problems with Adobe PageMaker, Equation Editor, and MathType.
