ATI increases market share, NVIDIA decreases

New statistics from Mercury Research show that ATI's share of the desktop PC graphics business increased to 27 percent during the second quarter, an increase of six percent from the previous quarter. During the same period, rival NVidia lost 13 percent of its market share, although it maintains a dominate lead with a 53 percent share. NVidia's decline was attributed to higher prices in Q2, and better sales in Q1 when customers got wind of the higher prices to come.
