Vortex 1.0: New iTunes visual plug-in

updated 03:00 pm EDT, Wed August 8, 2001

Trinfinity Software has released Vortex 1.0, a visual plug-in for Apple's iTunes. The freeware add-on requires iTunes 1.1 or later, and is compatible with both OS 9 and OS X. The company says more visual plug-ins are currently in development. [Classic, Carbon]

I can't seem to download a valid file from the site for OSX.
All I get is a text file full of code.
I tried to change the type/creator but it seems that .dmg's do not contain the resource needed for this.

Oh well, I guess if it's a problem on their end they will surely fix it…

    It's fine

Just option-click on the link and it will download to a file.

The plugin is not great at all. Hardly visually pleasing. Almost annoying.

    why...

...is it that iTunes doesn't have the ability to do such beautiful visualizations as WinAmp? I used to use WinAmp when I had a PC and the abilities of some of the artists were amazing...I see nothing that impresses me in iTunes.

    itunes plug-ins

There were/are several good visual plug-ins for SoundJam. Is the plug-in architecture that different for iTunes?

    Don't bother

If the company were considering making another plugin, don't waste your time. This one was so ugly and simple that you should be ashamed of yourself.
Seems like something you'd make on a TI-89, not a Mac.
