It will be nice to be able to buy a drive that is compatible with older, slower 1.1 but then be faster when I get a computer with usb 2.0.
Obviously with an old ibook i can't get a firewire pci card.
I think usb in general provides a cheaper periphreal solution.
USB 2.0 is basically a gamble at this point. Firewire will probably always be the default for high-end periphereals.
BTW, nice job MacNN! A log-in is a small price to pay for no more 'first post' c***. Maybe this'll cut down on trolls, too!
