Sources tell MacNN that the Omni Group is working on a 2.0 release of OmniGraffle which will add several new features and split the product into "professional" and "standard" editions. Over the weekend, we published a review of OmniGraffle in its current form.

    Sources?

I'd be interested to know who these "Sources" are. Maybe the OmniGroup itself trying to get attention? But why would they do something like that when it would cannibalize current sales and surely they have better ways to get attention anyway.

    Well..you just knowe that

Not only did I pay more (they've been running a $30 off deal recently for MacWorld) but now there's a 2.0 version...

    Jeez.

I'll buy it if they can work better with Visio.

    Mmmm

That's cool, but I wish they'd concentrate on ironing out the JavaScript issues in OmniWeb first. That's an otherwise excellent product, but not exactly an Omni showcase if you can't use it with certain key iTools features, for example. (Fix that and maybe you'll find OmniWeb in use at the Apple Stores? I know I didn't see it when I went, probably for that very reason.)

    Sources, schmorses.

I think it was Ken At Omni said over a month ago they were working on 2.0 and would soon have 1.1 out. Well 1.1 is out so it's no surprise 2.0 is in the works. Sources, schmorses. Omni has been admitting this publicly for some time. As long as the upgrade is fairly priced for the additional functionality I will be happy.

I also doubt the team working on Graffle is distracting the OW team's ability to fix OW in any way.
