Catchy Software has released Quitling 1.0, a new $10 dockling for Mac OS X that lets users quit or force quit any application or process from the Dock. Features include an AutoKill list for not allowing certain applications to launch, and an AutoStart list that will restart specified applications if they are quit or crashed.

    Why?

What happened to just holding down option and force quitting an application from the dock?

    Because

Quitling will let you quit processes that aren't quittable from the Force Quit dialog, such as UNIX daemons and the Dock.

    sounds great ...

... but $10? I haven't seen it, but I doubt I'd spend $10 for the ability to quit things when I could just kill 'em from the Terminal.
