Intego has released FileGuard 4.0, a $60 desktop security tool that provides password protection for volumes, documents, folders and applications. Intego has yet to confirm a release date for FileGuard 4.0 for Mac OS X.

No need for FileGuard. 9.X and OS X has all the protection you need. FileGuard is not needed anymore. Bye Bye.
Mac OS 9.X is not sufficiently secure. There is Apple File Security (a pain to use), and Multiple Users (easy to bypass with a boot CD). As long as it's not too hard for someone to steal your personal financial etc. data just by stealing your iBook, the OS will not really be secure.
