Brad Dusen notes that Brother has "recently updated its OS X printer driver (for the HL-1240 at least) to version 1.0.2, which seems to correct all of the problems that I, along with other HL-1240 owners were having. I recieved an error when trying to select the driver until I turned the Classic environment off, then it added the printer. Printing works with Classic enabled and from Classic itself (although it always did)."
