Bush is the cause of this

Thanks Bush Cheney for destroying our economy to get your losy tax cut passed. This $300 is great but now I have no job.

Hey genious. The Democrats wanted the $300 refund (and more) and that was in the deal to get the entire package past.

Boy, these forums are populated by the brightest of the bunch: people that think that tax cuts actually hurt the economic. Under your line of thinking a 100% tax rate would yield the most robust economy. Economic geniouses here...

As a matter of fact, classical economics states that fiscal policy (changes in government spending or taxes) is completely ineffective, so he's not completely off the mark there.

    Economic meltdown

Started under Clinton. Bush does deserve some blame, but so does Greenspan. He jacked rates up too high too fast.

    Not all Politics

Did everyone forget that what really happend was people realized that there is no way to make money using this medium (with notable exceptions). Mom and Pop .com's won't ever become successful. So take your pipe-dreams elsewhere.

    Bush Is to Blame

The meltdown started when Bush promised to refund the surplus to the "people". Basically he promised a return to the absurd "borrow and spend" policies of Reagan. That was a formula for high interest rates. The government taps capital markets to buy bombs and give money to people for having babies, and interest rates go up. Greenspan was only playing catch up.

    Hello-oh...

.. what is this, the America politics discussion board??

Another 'reader comments' page that is completely missing the point. It's getting old, guys, like the 'first post' thing. C'mon. Stick to the point, please.
