updated 09:55 am EDT, Wed July 18, 2001
SmartDisk's new 5GB FireWire hard drive, "FireLite" is a new "pager-sized" drive that weighs five ounces. Developed in conjunction with Toshiba "the smallest 5 GB hard drive mechanism", due in October for $400, is housed in a sleek, silver-colored casing. SmartDisk has also introduced new Titanium PowerBook-style versions of its SmartDisk VST FireWire Portable Thin Drives ($400-$670) and SmartDisk VST FireWire Portable CD-R/W Drive ($300)--both have sleek, silver-colored casings to complement the Titanium PowerBook G4.

VST needs a new web site
So, SmartDisc/VST, a company with 130 employees, NASDAQ listed and partner in crime with Apple on a few hardware bundle deals can't even update their web site to show off their latest products?
I am a huge fan of the slim FW hard drives because the work and look really cool, but their site has NO mention of this new "FireLight" and even though they have had ads for the Ti colored FW slim drives, their web site doesn't have a single drop of information about them...
