Agfa releases FotoLook 3.6 for Mac OS X

Agfa has released FotoLook 3.6 for Mac OS X, a beta version of its scanning software for the FreeBSD-based operating system. The current beta version supports the DuoScan T1200, DuoScan T2000 XL, and DuoScan T2500; additional scanners will be added in future updates. Owners of other Agfa scanners can use the built-in demoscanner to preview the features.

    What's Free BSD based?

    OS X is not FreeBSD, it is related, but it is not FreeBSD-based... do they mean they took the Code from a FreeBSD version?

    They still need to work on the Interface (which is somewhat clumsy) but it's a good beginning.

    Agfa's also coming out w/drivers for the SnapScan line soon. Current SnapScans work perfectly in classic, too.

    I like to see a vendor (and a smaller one at that) putting a priority on the Mac. That's something I've never noticed with Umax, for example, with its wretched System 7-style buggy software and endless extension conflicts, bah.

    Yes, it is. Darwin consist of about 40% - 60% FreeBSD libraries and userland binaries. Perhaps you sure do some investigation before spouting off.
