    YEP, Something causes it

Something causes it. I thought it strange that I couldn't drag items from OS X desktop to an Outlook Express message running in Classic, yet I could attach the same files manually through Outlook Express. Now I'll have to see if a can find a copy of 1.2.5......

    Can't always drag...

...and drop between two Mac OS 9 apps, either. With CarbonLib 1.3.1 and the N2MP3 extension active, I've lost all drag-and-drop. Disabling the N2MP3 extension restores the function. -- Ed.

also in 9.1 with carbon a

the same error can also occur in 9.1 when dragging into a carbon application (one that uses the same code to run in either X and 9.x).

I use DragThing 4.0.2 constantly, and removed the CarbonLib 1.3.1 a few days after I had installed it, because DragThing started locking up every 5-7 drag-n-drops.

downgrading to CarbonLib 1.2.5 made this behavior go away. (DragThings author was not able to replicate my lock ups).

    CarbonLib/Drag & Drop

In OS 9.1, I found that Drag and Drop within Eudora 5.1 and within Netscape 4.77, etc. failed after installing CarbonLib 1.3.1,

Replacing it with CarbonLib 1.2.5 cured the problem.

    9.1 only

Now I understand why drag-and-drop suddenly stopped working for me recently in both Netscape and AOL.
