Shaun Jackson Design, Inc. has introduced the Lapdog, a new carrying case designed to help mobile professionals comfortably and securely operate the laptop from their lap, on an airline tray, or any work surface. The Lapdog, constructed of rugged 1050 denier ballistics nylon, features a unique closure system and non slip surfaces that help the laptop rest comfortably when in use. The case also includes padded, fold open pockets and a padded, ergonomically designed shoulder strap. Regularly $140, users can purchase the Lapdog for $80 by entering the code "ugspecial" when prompted.

    old news

This is old news. The "Lapdog" has been available for years, at least since the PowerBook 2400c came out in 1997.

    old news or not....

it's pretty slick! I'd snap one up... and I just may, if a good check comes in in the near future! How long does the $80 special last?

    a little warning

Great Case, but don't use the pen holders. I have had my Lap dog for about a year now. Because of the design I had put pens into the pen holders designed into the bag. because of the traveling i do, the walking around caused the pens to rub up agains the nylon, chewed through it and scratch my laptop. other than that, i am happy with it, but i use a backpack mostly now.

    Hold a TiBook?

Is a TiBook too wide for it?

    Not a big lapdog fan

I bought a lap dog last summer for my new Pismo. I kept is just about a week before returning it. While it is a cool design you have to keep in mind a couple things. 1) it doesn't hold much else than the powerbook and a couple small accessories. You're not going to be getting a (paper) notebook in there or even a paperback book. 2) it takes a long time to put the whole thing together when it's time to go home...and that's the main reason I returned it. There were just too many buckles and straps and fasteners to contend with that it wasn't really practical. I found it to be much faster to simply shut down the PB and slip it into an eagle creek computer sleeve and then shove the sleeve in my backpack.

Of course, your mileage may vary.

has been around for the longest time... Probably not selling enough. Cheaper through the Herman Miller store anywaysz, and no, not enough storage...
