Napster strikes deal with independent labels

Napster has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with The UK's Association of Independent Music (AIM) and the Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA) that provides the music swapping service with hundreds of thousands of tracks to be available on its membership-based service, which is set to launch this summer. The deal covers tracks from artists including Moby, Muse, Ash, Paul Oakenfold, Tom Jones, Badly Drawn Boy, Underworld, Stereophonics, Mogwai, and hundreds more signed with independent labels in the UK, France, Germany, and Sweden.
