Apple Australia begins iWant campaign

Australian reader Jono Haysom writes about a new marketing campaign Down Under:

"Apple Australia has released its new campaign iWant. In a mass mail out today up to 200,000 Apple users and registered users received an Apple Store brochure with the word iOpener on the front. The brochure shows what's available in the stores and information on the listed products (and yes the brochure is in aqua). It appears that Apple Australia back into the swing of things after the collapse and demise of the failed Buzzle retail chain still paying off a hefty 30million debt...Only time will tell."

    No Cube

I picked up a copy of the brochure about a month ago from my local AppleCentre. There's no Cube listed! So the demise of the Cube was forecast for those with hindsight.

Isn't the name iOpener used by some company for one of those stripped down internet access devices?

What is with the USA and lawsuits. iOpener is advert campaign slogan on a brochure. no base for a lawsuit in Australian law.

Stupid thing never sold after they prevented linux geeks from modding the unit.

    Where are the stores??

One thing that I noticed was the small amount of AppleCentres listed. Apart from the Buzzle demise, WA used to have 5 AppleCentres 6 months ago. Now there are 2 listed! What are Apple doing to stop the slide. No use advertising if you can't buy the product anywhere!
