    why?

I think the detail that Sonnet missed is that many of us already have OS X running with our Sonnet processor upgrade cards running accelerated under OS X. We got this software for free elsewhere.

    why pay?

    why not?

The message said that it was free, and then the file is right there to download.. This is *Free* as well...

    Read it again

It says free, and doesn't mention a sonnet upgrade. Perhaps you responded to the wrong listing?

    My poor PowerCenter Pro..

..could never handle OS X regardless.

    A Sonnet 250 MHz G3 upgrade won't help it, I'm afraid.
My 7300-based machine is just too antiquated. (E.g.:
42 MHz bus speed. Ouch.) And throwing more money at
    it seems utterly pointless.

Nice thought though. Nice to see someone willing to try
    things like this...

OS X on Pre Biege Macs

I've been running OS X on my upgraded 8500 since a week after it came out. It works fine as long as you have a fast processor, hard drive and lots of ram. The only problem is that currently my ATI rage orion doesn't work.

    Pre Beige-G3s

I second the previous post. I have it running on my 9500/g3-300/272mb ram/ati orion and it works very well. Anybody that says this hardware is too slow or old to run OS X has been brainwashed by apple propagandists! Of course if anybody wants to buy me a new G4 I won't stop them... ;-)
