A game that has been released yet has already won an award? Well, heck, give me the award for best RPG of 2006!

The majority of the games at E3 have not been released yet.

How does one become the "best RPG" if one has not been released yet??

If you're referring to the pathetic self-congratulation of "industry" awards, computer games started out the gate at least twice as bad as the movies. Which is saying something, compared to the sleaze that is the Oscars. As entertainment media goes, video game companies are still a rinky-dink bunch, however much money they manage to blow (and boy do they blow).

For what it's worth, the game looks really cool. These are the folks that made Baldur's Gate, and from all that they've shown thus far, they have taken that work to the next level with NWN.

If you've ever had PC using friends that keep talking about all the cool games they have (if I hear about Everquest one more time, I'll shoot someone), then the prospect of having this kind of game will make you feel good to be a Mac user.

Glad to hear that they could still make this year and that they will offer a native X version. That's enough to make me think about indulging in a new dual processor system after seeing what new equipment Apple offers at MacWorld.

BeOS Version?

What exactly are the numbers of people actually running BeOS that would even be a potential market for a BeOS version of Neverwinter Nights? This one sort of confuses me. From what I've heard even the biggest name Linux games don't often sell that well (except maybe for big titles like Quake III), so I don't see how they can justify a BeOS version.

They did most of their BeOS work in the first few weeks of development. Once they lay the groundwork for the various platforms, it's basically just a recompile for them, and I'm sure they can spare the processor cycles to add another platform.
