We have a report on Office 2001 for Macintosh, with complete details on the new email/PIM application that will be included with the next version of Microsoft's popular application suite. We also have details on its availability, along with a roadmap of Office for Mac OS X, and several screen shots.

The new PIM application looks absolutely amazing!
I hope Microsoft is listening, because I only have 3 feature requests which will make this new PIM the best PIM for the Macintosh platform:
1. Please include "hot key" functionality, so we can trigger a "quick search" for contacts within any program. This is an amazing feature which is included as part of Now Contact, but was LEFT OUT of the Palm Desktop program.
2. Please make the "week view" look like the ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC & USEABLE "week view" in Now Up-To-Date, not the horrendously difficult and screen-wasting "week view" that's part of the Palm Desktop program.
3. Please make this program networkable.
If these 3 important needs are addressed, then this program will be a SMASHING SUCCESS!

My biggest feature request for Office 2k+1 (if anyone asked me which they haven't) would be to discourage users from attaching MS Word documents when some other alternative would do e.g. pasting plain text into an email program.
The simplest way to do this would be to have a way to turn a Word document into a standard mail message.
My attachments folder is a mess of Word documents I don't want to read, many of which are 10 to 100 times bigger than the raw text.

GO Leafs GO!
Microsoft needs to get this software out the door fast, as great as it is for them to be releasing it on Mac it takes way to long. :/
