Baldur's Gate II in July, OS X-ready

updated 01:45 pm EDT, Tue June 12, 2001

In an interview at Inside Mac Games, MacPlay's Chris Jacobson announces that steady progress is being made on the Mac port of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and the company plans to launch the Bioware role-playing game at Macworld Expo New York in July. "We hope to start testing on the Carbon OS X version soon."

    Good

I'm a lot happier to see MacPlay doing this port than Graphsuck (Oh yeah, where is that mulit-player patch again?). Anyway, what will be the resolutions for this game. One thing I really hate about BG1 is that it only does 640x480.

The engine now supports both 640 x 480 and 800 x 600; the same that Blizzard is doing for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction.

MacPlay is not doing the port. MacPlay is the "Publisher". The port is being done by Mumbo Jumbo Studios.
