Bare Bones Software has released BBEdit Lite 6.1.1, a new version of its free HTML and text editor for Classic and Mac OS X. Version 6.1.1 provides minor refinements and fixes for reported issues (a full list of changes is available online). BBEdit Lite provides a portion of the features available in its popular commercial text editor, BBEdit 6.1.2.

    Well from the looks of it if your running X you will not need to update at this time... but i do love BBEit... best text editor for X other than vi, pico, etc.

    Yes, you should upgrade at this time if you are running OS X 9or any other version of the OS). The two major fixes in this version (default font and multi-file searching) affect all versions of the OS.

    Hardly. If you look at the change notes for 6.1.1 you'll see that there are five problems fixed in this version. 3 of these are system agnostic, one of them applies only to Mac OS 8.1 and earlier and 1 applies only to Mac OS X.

    Of these, the default font and multi-file searching bugs were present in Mac OS X as well as 9.1 and earlier so this update is most certainly desirable if you are running Mac OS X.
