Verbatim has introduced the industry's first fully certified 24X CD-R discs, 80-minute DataLifePlus media that features Verbatim's "Super Azo" recording dye. Certified by 20x/24x drive manufacturers such as Yamaha, Plextor, Ricoh, and Sanyo, the new media can be used to burn an entire CD in about 3 minutes. The media can also be used with existing 1x-16x speed recorders. Volume shipments of the new media are available immediately.

Note it's "first fully certified 24X CD-R discs," which means that they're not the first but the first to get approval from all of the manufacturers of 20x/24x drives.

burning at that speed is not right. it scares the h*** out of me and should be illegal. a full cd in 3 minutes? come on. no one should have that much power!

    I don't care....

I'd rather have the 90-99 minute discs that don't
adhere to standards than a faster burning disc.
    My opinion.

    Super Azo

I've never had any luck with those Verbatim Super Azo blue-green discs at any speed. No reason to think I'll get less coasters at 24x, so no sale here. Not that anyone I know has a burner that fast anyway. ;) The phenocyanine ones work well for me (up to 16x so far).

    Re: Super Azo

Funny, I've never had any *problems* with Verbatim DataLifePlus, at any speed. I've burned over 600 of em too. Highly recommended.

    Verbatim media is great!

I'm a computer reseller. Many of my high-volume clients insist on Verbatim Datalife Plus media. We've had great experiences with it internally too. My only questions to Verbatim are - how come the 24x certified media isn't on your web site yet? And why are still shipping 12x certified media in channel when you've been promising 16x media for months?
