Miglia Technology announced it is shipping its PAL/NTSC analog-to-DV and DV-to-analog converter in Europe: Miglia Director's Cut allows users of video editing applications to edit and combine analog video archives with digital video footage. It also provides the ability export DV movies to any analog video device, such as VHS. The €415 (£300) device includes all necessary cables, including a FireWire/IEEE 1394, Analog audio and video, and S-Video cables as well as 2 year warranty and a multi-lingual installation guide (English, French, German, Spanish and Italian).

Yes,there is: Gravis Media-Box (ugly design)

A future version of the beautyful Formac Studio (www.formac.com) may also include the VCR software as the Media-Box is made by Formac.

Both include a TV tuner too.

    PowerR Director's Cut?

This looks eerily like PowerR's (www.powerr.com)product, only with a different shell. Can anyone confirm?

It's just the Power R bo

Isn't it? Power R has the same thing with the same name, just a different color. This box was reviewed in the July Macaddict along with the Hollywood DV and the Formac one. It took the best in show award at one of the Macworlds-(2000 I think). The problem is, they just raised their price from $289-$349.

Frag the message. I just noticed a tiny blurb on PowerR's site about Miglia being their European distributor.

Miglia is linked to PowerR look at the front of there web site (www.powerr.com). They have added a bunch of European specific items etc. I think the price difference reflects the European importation tax that they have to pay.
