It is freely available in many languages throughout the world." Links do work

Just click on the link above and read at the bottom of the page that loads, it says:

    "Download it"

and it gives you another link to click on. Im guessing that you might just have read this article too soon and the images hadnt been posted yet.

    Have fun!

    Re: Burner?

No, you dont need a burner. Just be sure to remove your pants after you download it, otherwise the installer will not work.

    G3 optimized?

W00t! So, can we run some benchmarks using home built PCs which cost the same as iMacs & have a glacial hardware slamfest?

    Good to see Mandrake

Although you might get treated by PeeCee geeks like a timid boy in high school for using Mandrake Linux (often called the easiest of the Linux flavors) on a Macintosh, it's still good to see a new version of Linux for the PowerPC. Maybe Linux PPC will now have a run for it's money.....

    Error messages

Is anyone else having problems downloading Mandrake with IE 5? The DL begins but stops with an error message (usually some kind of connection failure). I've tried all of the mirror sites but with the same result. Any ideas? Thanks

    IE??!

    eeeek!

are you downloading the 600+ mb image through IE?

    :/

Use a ftp client instead, Im certain that you will not only experience a higher rate of transfer, but you will also be able to complete the download itself...

btw, to the guy asking if you need a burner or not:

well it depends. Assuming you can mount the image with Toast (or similar), it might be possible to copy the contents to a harddrive and install it from there. Havent tried it so I cant tell for sure.

    Downloaded, now what?

I`ve downloaded the .iso images (#1=624,312,832 bytes, #2=646,072,832 bytes) for PPC, but cannot seem to use it. It didn`t get its type/creator code set correctly, and Toast 5 doesn`t recognize it as a mountable image.

Do I simply drag the .iso image to Toast and burn that? That won`t work, will it? That'll just give me a volume with a .iso file on it, not an ISO volume, right?
