Yesterday Future Power announced its settlement with Apple over its iMac look-alike. Other reports included Apple Design Award winners, Apple's new promo, sponsors for the 1394 Developers' Conference, John Carmack's thoughts on PPC vs. x86, World War II Online's impending release, Napster's deal with MusicNet, Lasso Studio 5 and Lasso Professional 5, Roxio's alliance with EMI, a new Olympus digital camera, and LaCie's lowered price on its CD-RW. Software releases included PowerBook G4 DVD-ROM 1.2 Update, Microsoft Word 98/2001 Security Update, and Palm OS Emulator 3.2.
