Although this build does have some issues, I can see that there are also some improvements being made.
However, I have to agree that the unCarbonized Mozilla is a much better product. I have already made it my default web browser.
Since I am using OS X as my default OS though, I very much look forward to seeing Fizzilla catch up with the other Mozilla builds.
Apple already emphasized to developers the advantages of NOT using Carbon during the last WWDC, so Mozzilla should really get with the program by developing the Fizzillamach version and deemphasize further developing the Carbon port.
All these browsers are sick cruel jokes... get over it... use Omni.
Right now the Mozilla group is focusing on the non-Carbon Mozilla browser. The Carbonized Fizzilla version is just a quick side build by Pinkerton. Unfortunately we probably will not see significant progress of Fizzilla until they get closer to the Mozilla 1.0 release.
Both of the Fizzilla versions (CFM and Mach) will be Carbon based; Cocoa is not in the picture for either one. The difference is whether or not the back end utilizes the new BSD core of OS X.
Is this ever going to be complete?
why can't we get a OS X browser that beats IE?!? i mean we pay for OS X and have to surf in 9.1. the future is late. why can't apple make a browser? the made an email app. what's stopping them from going all the way...? and don't even mention omni's browser. netscape 4.7 beats that... so here i am stuck in 9.1. waiting...
Atleast you folks can run this build. I haven't been able to run any of the builds. I've removed every instance of any files that contain the word "Mozilla" in them. There is nothing Mozilla related on my hdd except for the files in the "viewer" folder. Yet, when I try and run this app -- it crashes instantly.
Any ideas on how I can get this to run?
I am so sick of people bashing anything other than OmniWeb. I use OmniWeb and like it. I use IE and like it. I want to use Fizzilla, and do from time to time. I would like to make two points quick.y... for those who say use Omni and forget the rest I would like to know why you you don't use Windows* if you just want a hetrogenous computer... the entire mozilla project has one bright spot (in my mind) the gecko engine. The mozilla progject needs to scrap the face/skin idea and have the browser adopt to the OS GUI. Let the OS set the standard for the UI not the project leaders. That is the only major problem that I see. Personally I would like to see a few developers use gecko as a plug-in layout engine and build a browser around that... something like an opendoc setup. With such a browser development time will go down... useabality will go up. The only big problem I can see with such a solution is A.) we would have dll h*** or B.) we would have UNIX dependency h*** (same problem in effect). What do others think?
Lighten up...it *is* a version 0.9 product right now. And if you are in dire need of a browser right now just pay for OmniWeb as I did. Let's just be patient.
Is it my system or is there a problem printing *anything* with this release? I get a dialog box as if Mozilla is printing, but nothing happens. The 3/26/2001 release prints just fine.

This is fairly bad build. The whole 0.9.1 trunk has had a lot of new features crash landed, so this is expected. I like the new skin, however it feels weeker then fizilla .9 and much weeker then mozilla .9 for classic mac os.
remember, trash your old mozilla registry and prefs before you launch a new build of the browser. Otherwize it will be extra unstable ;)
This is not supposed to be an alternative to IE or OmniWeb now... so spare us the mozilla flame posts.
