VisualWare's VisualRoute beta for OS X is a "visual, fast, and integrated ping, whois, and traceroute program that automatically analyzes connectivity problems, displaying the results on a World map." (Pricing for OS X version not available.)

    This soft is a c***

I wonder how they dare to sell a software which you have to launch from the Terminal. And which finally doesn't work.

They need to spend a month or two to learn how to make a Mac Application.

    Look at the Network Utili

Network Utility does just about everything you could want to do. It gives you general info, Netstat, Ping, Lookup, Traceroute, whois, finger, and Port Scan all in a n Aqua interface installed with the system in Utilities. Why pay for something Apple included for free?

    Cool

have you guys even launched this app? No you haven't.

This guy is fairly cool. Unlike apple's net tools you can get a visual picture of which backbones are down. This is rad.

Moreover this is an app that is not for most mac users. This is a network admin nerd toy... support via the terminal is fine. And hey, this is OS X guys, you can launch things via drag and drop to the terminal. ...but I guess that's stillt o hard for that idiot above.

    Waited for this

I was always envious because Win users had this software. Great it's here now. I do not mind starting it with the CLI; considering it's only a beta that's ok, and the developer did a good job already providing a proper installer.

The guy who wrote "They need to spend a month or two to learn how to make a Mac Application." never wrote a real application himself, I bet. Bad style he shows, by the way.

    It's still a c***

Unfortunately for you, I wrote a lot of applications for the Mac.

Launching an application from the Terminal is not the Mac way for end-user.

The fact that after following the installation procedure and typing the exact command from the read-me and it doesn't work is not a good thing. Let's call it THE bug.

When it comes to be envious to Win Users because they have a graphical TraceRoute, do you really use your Mac or not to ignore that TraceRoute on Mac OS 9 is better, faster, prettier that this piece of junk made in Java.

When you will be able to boot your Mac without asking the technical support how to do that, may be you will be able to say something interesting.
