Among the new modules released for the NetBeans open source project, a standards-based integrated development environment platform directed towards Java developers, is Mac OS X support, delivering the software to early adopters of Apple's latest operating system. The newly added modules streamline Java application development and address a range of issues, including integration with Apache's "Ant" XML scriptable build tool, improved application server deployment support and SOAP-based Web services generation and deployment.

    Yesss!

Finally, a professional Java development tool for the Macintosh! I've been using NetBeans/Forte for Java on Solaris and Windows, and nothing comes close. Just make sure you have at least 128megs RAM, and with OS X, probably like 256Megs+. Its well worth it though!
