UserLand has released a beta of Frontier 7 and Manila for Mac OS X, a scalable Web content management system that enables end-user content management through a simple browser interface. With this release of Manila, UserLand also brings support for the next generation Internet standards SOAP, XML-RPC, and RSS to the Mac platform.

    Frontier on NT crashed

all the time when it first came out. They had memory allocation problems they would never admit, but eventually fixed. Since everything is stored in a big somewhat inaccessible 'root' file, which sometimes gets 'corrupted', I would consider waiting until they are good and done with it on the Mac before risking content on it. On the plus side, Frontier's outline approach to content management is quite helpful if you're not too organized but would like to be.

    Pricing is a joke!

$900 a YEAR! I don't have $900 TOTAL in my WebStar web server counting the updates since my original version 3.2 (now I'm at 4.4)

Their marketing is going to kill their product even if it is good. I bet the vultures are circling even now!
