    tablet iBook

I wonder if it would be possible to modify the hinge of the screen to be able to turn it all the way back in order to have a tablet iBook !
With some software hack to rotate the screen, it would be supercool for data entry on the move or reading eBook/PDF !

    Just dreaming ...

    Couldn't they get it in?

I can't believe they couldn't somehow fit the controller inside the iBook. I know there's not a *lot* of room, as I've dissembled mine about a half dozen times, but I'm sure it could be done.

    RE: tablet ibook

I have wondered/hoped that Apple would design a laptop exactly as you describe. I imagine that the screen would swivel around and lay flat over the keyboard. It would be perfect with a touch screen. It would be great to have a tablet ibook, for surfing the web, watching movies, ebooks, etc.

I wonder if anyone will use the Troll Touch set up to do sales presentations. I haven't see how far the screen on the new ibook bends. Imagine if you could flip it over and use the ibook like an easel. I wouldn't believe that it bends over enough though. It would be great for small presentations. Tap on the screen to activate something (like a movie, diagram things etc.) It could be good for education or training. Oh, the possibilities.

I'm sure that having the laptop at an angle would not be good for the hard drive. But for a little while it probably wouldn't hurt it.

    Just dreaming.

    iBook screen bend

The new iBook's screen doesn't open nearly as far as the old iBook. The new one opens about 120 degrees, while the old one could open about 170 degrees

I have an intermec 6651 and after using it for a couple months I'm going to be selling it primarily because it can't be effectively used in tablet mode. The problem isn't the handwriting recognition (I've got paragraph's calligrapher and it's wonderful) but the digitizer. The resolution is way too low and the fact that that it's resistive screen makes it almost useless because you have to contort your hand in order to prevent it from touching the screen. Until there's a notebook with a digitizer like the ones Wacom sells the dreams of a computer tablet will remain dreams.

    Apple doesn't

build computers wif touch screens coz there's too many limitations. Loss of light transmission, need for calibration, inaccurate for precise drawing. Juz save your precious money for the intuous or PL. If it's not Wacom, it's NOTHING!!!!

    Troll Touch

I bought the Troll Touch Screen for an iMac about a year ago. It was very poor quality and blocked about an inch of the screen. You could not touch the File, Edit, View... menus.

We sent it back to the company and it took a year to get our money back. Customer Service was rude.

I am going to be very slow before I buy anything from Troll.
