MacSoft announces Civilization III for Mac

Infogrames' Mac label, MacSoft, will be debuting four new Mac games at this week's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, including Master of Orion III, Tropico, and Fly! II. The fourth title that will be shown is Civilization III, which was not previously announced for the Mac. The game is the latest in the phenomenally successful turn-based strategy series, and is under development by a team at Firaxis Games led by Sid Meier.

    Woo WHOO!! I hope I don't have to wait to long after the PC version. It's bad enough I'm still waiting for AofE II.

    I 100% agree. Just to add I hope its carbonized or that Omni ports it to OS X in cocoa.

    I'd rather see Aspyr put these titles out. MacSoft hasn't been supporting some of their titles with bug fixes for months. Aspyr, on the other hand, has a history of timely fixes and updates for their software.

    I am very hesitant to buy any more MacSoft titles after my recent experiences.

    But MacSoft...

    In my experience MacSoft has done quality work, adding mac only features to some products as well. I can't comment on their support though as I haven't needed it.

    AoEII

    does anybody know whether AoEII will ever come to the mac? I haven't heard anything for awhile.

    OSX support

    Carbonization would be nice. But I don't want that to hold them up for months, as long as it runs in the Classic Enviroment.

    New Port

    Since Civ3 is a new port they should just be starting with carbon - its easier anyway with a better event model and removal of 2000 legacy APIs.

    my kids made me

    we've got 5 macs, but the kids made me get a windows for christmas for them cause they got tired of the wait for new games to come to the mac....haven't bought a mac game since.....sorry.
