Ethernet 1.0 only for slot-loading iMacs

Kyle Dixon pointed us to a note from an Apple representative on Apple Tech Exchange, which says that the recent Ethernet 1.0 update only applies to slot-loading iMacs:
"The Ethernet Update 1.0 only applies to iMac (Slot Loading). We apologize for any inconvenience. A Tech Info Library article is in the works. The Software Downloads Web site will be update as well."
[Apple's recently modified or created TIL aricles page has yet to be restored after Apple pulled the page more than a month ago and later promised the functionality would be restored.]
