SFX Machine 1.5: more precision, G4 support

updated 02:25 pm EDT, Sat May 12, 2001

The Sound Guy has released SFX Machine 1.5, a Premiere-format audio effects plug-in that is now optimized for the G4 processor. The plugin offers the ability to create your own effects, choose from over 400 presets, create new sounds with the Randomizer module, and also includes a modular synthesis engine. It works with Peak, Peak LE, Deck, Vision, Premiere, Digital Performer, Logic Audio, Metro, and TurboMorph. A demo is available online.

    RE: Expensive!

Ya, i agree, its a little pricey for being such a modest plugin, but this plugin is great! I have mangled some great samples with this plugin. Anyone who is doing audio on a mac should really check this plugin out.

    price and distribuition

it used to be published by bias. i think they wanted it VST, and the author didn't agree. anyways, $75 for this audio plugin is really quite affordable considering what it can do. imo.

    BIAS

BIAS sucks. They promise features and announce releases years ahead of time, and then never deliver. I'm glad Earl is distributing SFX Machine himself. And $75 is a pretty good price. The plugin is totally amazing.

    RE: BIAS Sucks

They have promised some features for Deck that are only now being implemented, but at least they're doing it, which is much better than Deck's previous holders. It looks like Deck 3 will be out soon (judging from the fact that you can actually see it in use on their web site).

    great app

$75 isn't out of control when you consider the price of some of the plugins out there. especially when you consider the amount of features and presets SFX machine has. i've loved this app since day one but $300 was a little out of my range for a single plugin. $75 i can do......

    Honestly

Peak and SFX machine were my first audio apps. They were also the first apps I ever pirated because of the price. I felt bad and haven't touched them in a couple of years. $75 is nothing considering how much use/fun I got out of it. I'm buying a copy just to say thanks.
