    no banners?

actually it doesnt matter if you have OSX or not, Hotline 1.8.5 still costs $13 if you want to get rid of the banners.

Id recommend Zombie (a Hotline clone), it does everything Hotline does and actually has a proper Aqua interface as opposed to Hotline's OS9 look (yes: a carbon app that DOESNT use the Aqua interface, what the...?).

Zombie doesnt have any banners at all.

    and best of all....

zombie is still in HL 1.2.3 format windows. Looks like a native version of HL 1.2.3

    Hotline...

The reason Hotline doesn't use the Aqua appearance is because the windowing system is still proprietary. That's why Hotline windows under OS8.x/9.x don't take on scrollbar settings and other appearance factors. While it's nice to see a carbonized version, any of you running X should know that the installer is a classic-only application.

Zombie was downloadable from badmoon.org, and might still be. They had some issues recently. Plus, it hasn't been updated in a while. File transfers have serious issues that need to be worked out (slow!) and uploaded files are corrupted 95% of the time.

hx compiles successfully for OS X. It's not pretty, but it's better than Zombie.

    Holtine 1.8.5 Carbon

There IS a freeware, banner-enabled version of Hotline 1.8.5 carbon out there. Unfortunately, Hotline had to go and not put it on their own site, and Download.com still has 1.8.4.

You'll just have to use Hotline to find the new version. Search for "Hotline 1.8.5" at htp://www.hotlinehq.com and you'll find it. I just wonder where those people got it from in the first place...
