Morning tech news: the HomeRF wireless standard has received an upgrade to 10 Mbps, nearly matching the speeds of 802.11b (AirPort); in an effort to save about $4 million, Adobe is requiring nearly 2,000 employees to take the first week in July off; Connectix has posted a Virtual PC for Windows Technology Preview, which allows PCs to run multiple x86 operating systems concurrently; and Amazon has come under fire again for its accounting practices.

Adobe shutdown ...
Remember folks, the 4th of July falls on a Wednesday this year. Me (and probably a lot of other folks) we're going to take off the other 4 days of the week. So, shutting down North American operations for this week makes sense; just think how much electricity we'll save California.
(Just want to jump-in before the doom sayers and FUD mongerers.)
