    Dock notification

Anyone know if any other application other than Apple's Mail has Dock notification? This is what I like about Mail.

    Thanks

    Where's the Spell Checke

Not another application without a spell checker. Come on guys.

I wasted $50.00 on this application and it doesn’t even have spell checking. Also word to the wise, all attachments are actually detached and saved into a folder. If you detach an attachment on to your desktop, then delete it, it is gone. You do not have a copy of it still in your email as most other email apps. It works much more like PINE. All attachments are actually saved to a folder and what you see is file reference. By deleting it, you delete the actual attachment.

This is confusing for me as I count on having the email as a backup of what ever was attached within that email.

I like the Application, but between those faults and Eudora’s crappy way of working for OS X I keep going back to Mail.App. It might have its faults, but I have not seen anyone else do a better job yet. Apple isn’t charging me $50 for just email either.

This pisses me off to no end. I like Eudora, but the OS X version blows, as does PowerMail. Do I honestly have to wait for Entourage to be carbonized before someone else makes a good email program? No wonder MS wins all the time. Jez....

PowerMail, here is a tip. HAVE A DAMN SPELL CHECKER. What the h*** is the matter with you people. How can you ignore such a basic function. They list some spell checkers you can download. NONE of which work in OS X, and half of which are not even in English.

    Get a clue.

    From Power in Email

    Sir,

I could really use your support. I download and purchased
PowerMail Carbon for OS X. Your application lists downloadable
spell checkers. Has your organization even tested these with
PowerMail for OS X? None of these work at all, and as far as I can
tell they are all OS 8 and below.

Am I correct in saying that under OS X, there is NO spell check at
    all?

If you are aware of a way to spell check email in OS X, please let
me know. Otherwise, as far as I am concerned, this application is
NOT completed, and your site should state that NO SPELL CHECK
    IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE.

THERE IS NO SPELL CHECKER AVAILABLE CURRENTLY UNDER MAC OS X. There. You
are right, the spell-checking mechanism in PowerMail is open, but there
are no spell checkers that support AppleEvents, not even Apple's. And
there is no programmatic way to access that from Carbon (yet).

    Kind regards,

    Your fault for X

If you're stupid enough to install X you shouldn't complain about
    nothing working on X.

    Stupid X idiots.

X is in no way ready for real world usage.

    Re: Where's the spell...

Not another application without a spell checker. Come on guys. I wasted $50.00 on this application and it doesn’t even have spell checking.
You didn't notice this fact before buying it? Plus, what's the matter with people, can't anyone spell anymore without some program telling them a word is misspelled? What if you misspell a word with a different correctly spelled word (like "have" and "gave"). You lose the meaning of a sentence. It's called proofreading, people! Stop being lazy!

Also word to the wise, all attachments are actually detached and saved into a folder. If you detach an attachment on to your desktop, then delete it, it is gone.

Everyone's a critic. Well, let me tell you something, I prefer THIS method than saving worthless attachments in my mail database, which makes them baloon up to hundreds of megs in size, slowing down everything (not to mention a pain in the a** to backup). In what I do, I like to keep a lot of old mails for reference, but don't give a squat about most of the attachments. If they were stored with the email, I'd be stuck with attachments I didn't want to keep. Maybe you should learn not to "MOVE" but "COPY" the attachment.

And just so you know, there's a lot of people who hate EMAILs stored in a database, they like to have each email stored in a separate file (Claris EMailer 1.0 used to do this, I believe). They like to be able to search through the emails with search programs. So just because one person wants their email one way, doesn't mean that's the way it has to be for all programs. You don't like powermail, fine, use something else.

This pisses me off to no end. I like Eudora, but the OS X version blows, as does PowerMail.
I can't say I've used the mac version, but the PC version of eudora stores attachments in a separate folder.

Do I honestly have to wait for Entourage to be carbonized before someone else makes a good email program? No wonder MS wins all the time. Jez.... I don't consider Entourage a good email program (well, I can't say I've used it, but since it costs $400, I don't see it worth the price). I use Emailer on my Mac, and have not seen anything better. I use Eudora on my Windows machine, as Outlook (or Express) nor Netscape just wouldn't work the way I like to. Plus I hate the way they check mail, the stupid preview windows, the fact you CAN'T turn off the HTML c*** some people call styling, and on, and on, and on.

    What losers

I think you miss the whole point of having a computer in the first place. There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a spell checker. It makes me more efficient. That has nothing to do with being lazy. Why have any modem connivences... Why use a washing machine you lazy a******. Why not wash the clothes by hand. Why not rub two sticks together and make your own damn fire. Why not use a type writer, or scribble all your mathematical calculations on paper and check them twice.

What do you think the two biggest uses for computers is? Calculations and writing.

As for the other jerk, there is nothing wrong with attempting to OS X and asking for a spell checker. Mail.App has one as does Eudora. Mail.App comes with OS X and Eudora is in the same price range as PowerMail and comes with a spell checker. Many applications in the same price range as PowerMail come more feature rich.

If you have not tried Entourage, shut your yap. You shouldn’t comment on something your not even willing to try. The application doesn’t cost $400. The whole office suite cost $339.00 and you get more than just Entourage. Stop pretending to be an idiot.

OS X may not be 100% ready for prime time, but I least I support it and those that develop for it. You are just going to wait until all the hard work is done. Be creative once in your life instead of being such an a******. You both sound like people willing to eat the pie, but you do nothing to help bake the pie.

Who is the loser who paid $50 semolians for a POS beta?
You have a 30 day trial of it and still couldn't figure out it didn't have a spellcheck.
You have no business riding the previous posters.
Just shut up and read, don't post.

Works under OSX, has spell checking and a lot more. Lots of options - doesn't have dock notification though.
