Apple is offering a new "College Bound" promotion that allows Mac purchasers to add 128 MB RAM, an Epson Stylus Color 777i printer (with USB cable), and a Rio 600 MP3 for $200. The bundle represents a savings of roughly 50 percent over purchasing the items individually from the Apple Store. The offer is eligible for educational customers and cannot be combined with Apple's free-printer promotion for iMac purchasers.

    now THAT's a discount

not like the PowerBook studio, $200 off a $7000+ purchase...this is just what Apple needs to KEPP DOING to boost their educational sales.

    Cool

I like that. And glad to see they're rolling this out in APRIL not late summer. Good for parents. I like the daft touch of including a Rio for those mp3 lovin' dorm rooms. hehe.

    More Options

I know we always want more, but I have no real use for a MP3 player (yes, I do love MP3s), and that printer is up to par with what I would want. I could definitly use more options. Hopefully they ar ecoming soon!

    Then get this

and sell the rio, which retails for $280 for 200 on ebay, you'll get a free printer and 128 megs of ram.

    exactly..

dont need the rio? sell it on ebay. it by itself is worth more than 200 dollars, and you just picked up 128 megs of ram and a color printer for free. :) Of course, I would keep the rio myself.... but I just graduated from college so I'm not eligible for this promotion anyways

Glad to see you paid so much attention to grammar while in college.

    I don't like ebay

Yeah, you could sell the rio on ebay, but what if you are like me, and don't trust the online auction places? I know for millions of people they work well, but I just do not like time. Also, I live in an area where selling electronic equipment isn't an easy thing. It's totatlly not a technilogical place.

I say, give us the option to not include the rio.

I say get a life. This is a great deal, and if it doesn't suit you, don't take advantage of it.

    great

They need more deals like this more often to kick Dell's posterior and tell them to rocky mountain high-tail their f**** off the education sales areas. =)

Why not ebay? If you're selling, there's no risk. When you get the money, mail the Rio. Plain and simple.

I'm wary of buying on ebay, but what problem could there be with selling?

Frankly I'm surprised about the people who want more options. You have an option - buy the bundle or don't - it's that simple.
