Can anyone testing OS X Server 2.0 on a Beige server please comment. I'm dying to convert from AppleShare IP 6.x to Mac OS X Server when I can.
The biggest thing holding me back will be the lack of a SoftRAID driver for my two 50-gig drives striped into a RAID 0 array.
Anxious to hear comments from people!

I just installed OS X Server Build 10.0 and I would say that in every way, it just feels better than OS X. Windows snap open and close. Moving a window is smooth. Resizing is much better but still a "little" choppy. I posting this using Internet Explorer 5.1b1 and OS X Server.
My computer is a G4 533Mp with 384 MB RAM, Four 30 gig hard drives (two firewire). Coping files between hard drives seem very fast too. I just copied a 68 MB folder in 5 seconds between hard drives (firewire one to internal one) and the hard drives are nothing special (not fast ones). I hope the updates to OSX bring it to the level of performance that I'm experiencing now. No spinning gold disk yet or forced quits.
I want it.. I want it SO BAD.. my current APpleshare IP 6.3.2 setup (G3/300 beige, 256mb RAM, 1x8gb HD, 2x45gb HD, Asante 10/100 card, OrangeMicro USB/Firewire card) works great, but I would much rather have the new features added to MacOS X Server 2.0... plus the rock solid stability of MacOS X Server 1.0..
I want it!!! Hrm.. do ALL ADC developers get it? (paid ones, that is) Because if they do, I'll pay the $500 to join tomorrow....
All paid developers get it.
I'm a Student Developer. I got OS X. Will they send me Server? That would kick a** as well as kick OS X, Jr. off of this computer faster than a DP G4 does a FLOP (a little geek analogy there)
Anyone developer who puts OS X Server on Hotline should be shot.
Peronally I'd love to have a copies in order to upgrade our OS X Server 1.2 servers, but I'll be damned if I am going pirate it. Software piracy is not much different from outright thievery. If you want the software then pay Apple for it. It is not just the right thing to do, it is the law.
( I realize ADC members get a free copy, but that is because they are developers (or at least they are supposed to be) and because they paid for their ADC membership.)
it's a beta - it expires. Apple hasn't said whether developers will get a final version for free
